Guards went MIA?

Dear Residents,

Some of you might have noticed that our guard post were not manned for about half an hour this evening between 5:30 pm - 6:00 pm.

The fact of the matter is, there was a an 'operasi' conducted by the Immigration Department checking on the security guards in our USJ 11 area. Our guards who are all Nepalese panicked and gathered in one of the guard houses. They did not have to really, as they are all 'legalised'.

Over in 11/4, there were two Pakistanis who were among the guards on duty. They were questioned by the officers from the Immigration Department. We are not sure what happened to them.

For your information, the law allows Nepalese guards to be hired as security guards. Hence, we have been assured by our contractor, our guards are cleared to carry out their duties legally and that we should not worry.

Now, that is a sigh of relief!

After all, they have been doing a good job. Don't you agree?

Just thought I would leave a comment on the latest post on the blog. I have noticed that the flood lights in the park are no longer left on at night. Is this because someone wants to save electricity or they are faulty?

If it is about saving, I think it would be better to leave them on as some youngsters like playing basketball there at night when it is not so hot. However if it is faulty, may I suggest someone in charge have something done as soon as possible?

Cheers.
