Updated Newsletter Jan-Feb 2011

Dear Residents,

We would like to inform you that a lot of survey forms have been returned to the Committee on January 26, 2011. Out of that, 65% of the respondents have agreed to have the trial run for the change in the way the security is managed whereby focus and attention will be given to the paying members’ homes ONLY. The trial patrol will commence on 30 January 2011 for two weeks until 14 February 2011.

The Committee would like to thank all the residents who have given us their feedbacks. You will be happy to know that, there are now new volunteers who have come forward and also people donating bicycles for use for the new system which will be on a trial run as stated earlier.

There will be an additional guard engaged specifically for the festive season. The main gates will be opened during the day and will NOT be manned. Instead the guards will be deployed to specific streets and they have been instructed to look after paying members’ houses ONLY. They will carry out patrol on the streets assigned and will carry out constant check on paying members houses.

Paying members will have a new sticker pasted onto the plaque for identification purposes. If you are one of them, kindly keep your front doors and grills visible for the guard to inspect your houses during their rounds. And if you are leaving for a long holiday away from your homes, kindly inform your street leaders so that we can pay extra attention to your houses.

If you do not see a new sticker on your plaque and you have paid, please get in touch with Mr. Gan You Lam, Vice Secretary, your street leaders or any Committee members. Please also have your receipt ready as proof of payment. The guards on duty will be given an updated list of paying members for their patrolling purposes.

For your information, from 8pm to 8am, the guards will revert back to the current system that is, manning the post and controlling the entry and exits. For the longer term, the Committee will be sourcing a device that can be installed at paying members’ homes which can track the number of times the guards come around to your homes to check on it. We will keep you updated on this as we make further progress.

For now, the Committee would like to wish all the residents, “Kong Hee Fatt Choy”! If you are driving, please drive carefully. Have a safe holiday everyone!!

Thank you.

The Committee

Dear Residents, my New neighbours and my Old neighbours,

"KONG XI FATT CHAI" to the chinese residents.

Now that the "RED STICKER" is on the plaque, we would like to appeal to and plead for my good neighbours to support the security by paying up the monthly security fee, it is only RM50.00 per month. All my neighbours definately can affort the RM50.00 more than we can afford.

Sincerely,

Celine

Hi all neighbours

To start with G&G for USJ 11/3 is not easy and the main purpose to have better security .
Let's come all together and have a complete G&G .
For those not willing to pay , suggest you move out from USJ11/3 .
Sincerely
KKK

It is a good to take care of those who paid security fee promtly. But I would like to seek your kind consideration that from 8am to 8pm not to allow outsider to park their vehicles along the main service road, it serve no purpose to have G&G overall. Most of us are working adults who actually leave home early and come back late, I think should follow the old system ; 1) no outsider vehicles allow to park at the service road, 2) security system should be as usual 24 hr a day.

i would like to thank the commitee for all the hard work they have put in for the G&G.
However i am of the view that the old system works better as i see guards talking and grouping in the guard house more often than they are patrolling the housing area.
it has only been a couple of days but vehicles from outside are parking inside our taman again.
in the meantime, gong xi fa cai.

Dear all,

Thank you for your comments. There has been a lot of feedback from residents on the new system after we have implemented it since yesterday. We have given you a chance to give us your comments and we have received quite a few before we made the decision to go ahead with the trial. The majority who are paying is for the new system. If you want to comment on this after the fact, kindly put your name and address so that we know you are a paying member otherwise, your comments will remain as such - a comment. As for outside cars coming in the area, we do not restrict them anymore as out focus will be on the property of the paying members. Thank you for your understanding.

KONG XI FATT CHAI to one and all.A very big thank you to the committee for all your good work and dedication even though, unfortunately, is not appreciated by everyone. From what we had been observing during the past couple of days, although the guards had been patrolling the area on their bikes, it seemed that they were either pedaling past too fast or they were not paying much attention and hardly observing what was happening in the paying member's compound. Maybe they should be more alert and vigilant while making their rounds.

Dear Madam Ng,

TQ for your comments. We will take it up with the guards to ask them to improve their inspection rounds. We are monitoring the effectiveness with view to implement it on a longer term (or not).

FYI, some of the Committee members who are around have been patrolling our area at odd hours as well to add to the guards on duty as CNY is a vulnerable time when most of the residents are away.

We will also be looking into laser devices which will require the guards to beam into a target device (which will be installed in every paid residents' homes) that will record their time and date of visit.

Anyway, your feedback is indeed very useful for us to assess the effectiveness during this trial period.

Thank you again and Gong Xi Fa Cai to you and your family.

Just noticed that outside cars are coming in again to park. We have been more vigilant ourselves too since the trial started. Hope that all the residents will pay to continue the G&G which took the committee/residents so long and so hard to set up. For those who cant pay lump sum pls see your road leader to arrange payment method. Your Road leader is a volunteer not a paid worker so pls be more considerate. Rm50 is less than your astro bill and as Celine mentioned, am sure all those staying here can afford it.
GONG XI FA CAI

A Blessed New Lunar Year to our 11Trees community!

I was saddened and disappointed to hear that we now cannot afford to keep our G & G system as before due to falling contributions and that there are no more in-coming checks between 8am to 8pm. The old system seemed effective in keeping down the crime rate in our community. No? Many of my friends and relatives who visited when the old system was in place, commented that our G & G system was very good – better than most others - and the guards were very committed to their work and no one complained about the small inconvenience caused when coming to visit.

In this new daytime ‘open system’, I have seen our guards cycling around and while some are quite conscientious in checking the contributing houses, others just seem to ‘breeze by’ in their bicycles. I wonder about the effectiveness of this new system and if there have been any crimes/incidents since the new system started.

If crimes were to start to creep in again, many of us will then ask the inevitable question: What are we paying for? & our G & G system will then totally collapse & we will all be back to square #1. All the hard work and sweat put in by our dedicated committee members will have come to nought. And the bad guys will have ‘happy days’ again! I shudder at the thought.

It is my humble appeal during this festive period of forgetting and forgiving, of giving without receiving, to get together once again as a knitted 11Trees community to make our neighbourhood a safer place for our families. We all need to chip in with the contributions to keep the system going.

With Warm Regards
