Sept-Oct 2012 Newsletter

Dear Residents,

We are very pleased to inform you that there were ZERO crime reported during the recent long Hari Raya break. This was the result of us stepping up on the security measures with the help of the security company.

However, it does not mean that we will be slacking the security measures but in fact we are trying our level best to maintain the measures that we have taken which seemed to be effective in meeting our objective in crime prevention. At the same time, we urge you not to take things for granted and continue to be vigilant at all times.

Also, we cannot emphasize enough that your continued support towards ensuring we are funded appropriately is crucial towards this goal. Hence, please do pay your subscriptions which are due.

Here is an update of what is ahead in our community:

Collection

The biggest issue – collection is again here now. The collection dates are for October 2012 to end of March 2013, a total of RM300 for six months of security services. But if you choose to pay for a full year, it will also be welcomed. For the sake of your family’s safety including your own and the community at large, we urge you to make the payment as soon as possible.

Please make payment to “Persatuan Penduduk USJ 11/3, Subang Jaya, Selangor” to your respective Street leader and be mindful to get the receipt from them. It will provide a record for both parties should situations arise when a claim from the insurance company against burglary is necessary. Also, it provides for accountability and transparency.

When you receive your receipt, please check to make sure all the details like name of issuer, amount, dates, etc are correct to avoid any future misunderstanding. Also, we strongly recommend you to make payment via cheque rather than cash.

If you still want to make cash payments then please do insist for a valid receipt which should be issued to you immediately.

Dialogue with the Police

Due to the non-availability of local police in making time to have a dialogue with the residents, we have decided to postpone this event to a later date.

Adopt a Fire Hydrant program with Bomba – Gotong Royong campaign

You are all invited to an upcoming event, that is, “Adopt a fire hydrant” which will be held on Saturday, 13 October 2012, 8:30am at the USJ 11/3 field. It will be hosted by the team from our local Fire unit located in USJ 17 and supported and attended by our ADUN, YB Hannah Yeoh as well as the councilor for our area.

There will be a fire safety talk, followed by the cleaning and painting of the fire hydrants in our area. Random testing on certain fire hydrants will also be carried out to make sure they function properly. During that time, the water supply is expected to be murky due to the sediments collected in the pipes and therefore residents are advised not to do their laundry during that time as it may dirty the clothes being washed instead.  Here is the program:

08:30 am – Kehadiran para Tetamu

08:45 am – Ucapan
·         Aluan – Pengerusi Persatuan Penduduk USJ 11/3
·         Perasmian – YB Hannah Yeoh, ADUN Subang Jaya
09:00 am – Penerangan pihak Bomba dan Gotong-Royong
·         Hidangan Ringan
            11:00 am - Bersurai

Please do get all your family members to join us for this community event.

Security Checks

Due to the incidences of crime reported in the past months in USJ11/3, security measures have been stepped up, particularly related to the checks conducted for cars without stickers coming into our area. This is crucial as it will filter outsiders with bad intentions quickly allowing mitigation actions to be taken quickly as well.

Unfortunately, some of our residents who did not apply for stickers seemed to think it is okay to just drive past the guards. Instructions are given to guards to stop and record the details of ALL vehicles coming into our area without stickers as without proper checks (which are the most frequent complaint against our security) crooks will be able to come into area easily.

Because of the slack in checking for stickers, cars coming in from our neighboring area are using it as a shortcut to Taipan – increasing traffic flow and also increasing the risk of accidents occurring in our area. We need the cooperation of all residents to apply for stickers to avoid being stopped at the entrance. Your cooperation is highly appreciated.

Futsal Court

We are very pleased to inform you the construction of the Futsal court is almost complete. It would appear that TopSpeed, the owner of the bungalow, has kept to their side of the bargain by building a high quality court with proper fencing and lighting. Some minor touches are needed as well as the inspection and approval from the MPSJ before it is handed officially to the MPSJ and residents for our use.

To prevent abuse, misunderstanding and vandalism, certain rules and regulation will apply. It will also be opened for a limited time. All these considerations will be discussed at our Committee meeting and the details will be made known to you once the decisions are made. A notice to the rules will also be displayed at the court.

Once the official inspections are done by MPSJ and ready to be handed over, we will have a small opening ceremony which will involve the donor, TopSpeed and officials from MPSJ and of course, you, the residents. Keep a look out for more information on this event soon.

Thank you.

The Committee
