Car theft attempt foiled

There was an attempt to steal a car at 41, Jalan USJ 11/3K at around 2.20 am in the morning. However, this attempt was foiled by our security guard who was on patrol at that time. The car door was opened and the owner was alerted about it.

We would like to advise all residents to not take things for granted and to take every possible precaution.

Thank you.

I am staying at 11/3L, I was awaken because of dogs barking at about 2:45am, I saw a guy wearing black, he was walking beside the corner house at 11/3K near Gate 4, a car (white/grey in colour) came to pick him up and then sped off, I was still half asleep, did not manage to get the car number.

Dear Mr. Lee,

Thank you for letting us know of the situation.

Folks - as you can see, the daring attempts of these thieves and criminals are not relenting at all even though we have security meausres in placed. (Cannot imagine what it will be like if we did not have it in place!)

Looking at the situation, getting the CCTV up and running to enhance our security capabilities seems more urgent now. We really need to have this project take off as soon as possible.

In this instance, if you have not made your contributions to the Fencing and CCTV project, please do so. We need more funds to complete the CCTV project now that we are almost there with the Fencing.

Please do donate generously. At this stage, we are not sure the type and cost of the CCTV systems that we will be looking for but it should be the "industrial" type which is built to weather the harsh operating conditions and should cost us several thousand Riggit.

Thank you.

I am the owner of the car mentioned. Thank you all of you for the highlight of the situation and also to our dedicated security guard who foiled the theft. Without the security measures in place, it would not be only our property in danger, but also the lives of the residents. I hereby remind everyone to stay on alert in case of any such incidents in the future.

Thank you.

No mention about how the car can come into the guarded and gated area at 2.20am. Is the intruder an 11/3 resident? Did he come in to drop his friend? Did the guard record non resident car details at 2.20am? 11/3k has guards on both ends, so what is the short coming in our security practice? Well it would be good to know so that we can try our best to prevent such incident. Good work to the security guard on duty.

Ken 3D has raised a good point. We need to further tighten the security especially unregistered cars that enter or leave past midnight.

Records of such unregistered cars, esp the drivers, past midnight can be used as evidence if there is any robbery attempts on houses and residents in USJ 11/3.
