Daylight Robbery at 11/3P

Dear Residents,

A robbery took place yesterday (Thursday, 25 March 2010) afternoon at USJ 11/3P. The victim who left the house at around 1 pm to attend to some of his personal business, returned around 2 pm to his home only to find some intruders in his house.

Realizing that the owner came home, one of the robbers tried to attack and drag him into his house but he managed to break free and fought back with a stick which was lying around in the garden, sending the robbers fleeing for dear life.

An accomplice nearby, who was in a Toyota Avanza (silver), then drove off in a hurry after picking up the robbers before anyone could do anything. It was all over in minutes.

The victim lost almost RM7,000 worth of his valuables. The police were alerted and investigations are now under way, hence information will be limited until we are able to disclose more.

Because of this incident, the Committee has decided to tighten the security checks at the entrances into our area. It will get more stringent going forward. Cars without valid stickers will be subjected to greater scutiny to prevent such incidences from happening again.

Meanwhile, please be on the alert for suspicious characters lurking around the neighbourhood. Do not take things for granted and do ensure you lock your homes securely if you intend to go out even if it is for a short while.

Do contact the police immediately should you come across such people.

The Committee

hi, i am a resident at 11/3C, and find this is most shocking and alarming. May i suggest:
1) that there be at least 2 guards at every posts at any one time
2) roving patrols stop vehicles without stickers
3) and more stringent for cars without stickers trying to enter
4) motorcyclists should also be stopped, as i noticed them wheezing by in a face paced manner
5) are moveable barriers on wheels allowed instead of cones?

thanks
Robert
